The Songs from the Caravan project gives my traveling to folk clubs and festivals a purpose and focus. I quickly realised that it has become about providing social history and creating an archive of music for future generations. I love capturing the skill and talent of the people that I meet on my travels.
I have been in the folk world for many years and have enjoyed sharing contemporary and folk music with kind and lovely people, many of whom have become longstanding friends. I play the guitar, melodeon and sing.
My love of travelling and caravanning has always been strong and to share singing and music often with food of one sort or another gives me great pleasure.
I love it when artists and festivals use the video material to publicise their events or even check out artists for bookings.
The project is entirely funded by me and is not done for profit and all the recordings are approved by the performer.
I am happily married with two sons and 6 grandchildren. I really enjoy my home and family life and I hope that one day one of my grandchildren will join me on this wonderful travelling experience making and recording songs from the caravan.
